Rolling thru Miami’s Food Truck’s

Miami locals are on the scene following and participating in the latest food truck craze and it is good! If you are a visitor to our city, you should definitely get in on the action if you like things easy and not too fussy. I have seen up to 25-30 food trucks offering everything from delicious taco’s to cupcakes to braised pork with tater tots. Some of Miami’s best chef’s have come up with very creative fast and healthy gourmet street food that is sure to tempt anyone’s palate. Their locations are in local neighborhoods ranging from Downtown, North Miami, Kendall and so forth. Let’s hit the road and search for your next memorable grub…

MSC Food Truck

Chef Ingrid Hoffman, host of the Food Networks Simply Delicioso, opened her Latin Burger in early 2010, and it has since been a hit! No stranger to good latin cuisine, Ingrid’s recipes incorporate her latin sazón to make great burgers and delicious taco’s! Chef’s from Johnson & Wales University make the magic happen daily…and when you try the pulled pork taco, you will understand what I mean by magic! The pulled pork taco has a homemade barbeque sauce that is indescribable and very much worth repeating. You must also try the Latin Macho Burger (also in a taco) combines chorizo, chuck, and sirloin for a surprising change to your your palate.

Chef Brian Mullins has created another worthwhile food truck to visit over and over: Ms. Cheezious….Not only will their Grilled Cheese rock your socks off, but their Goat Cheese, Prosciutto, & rucula sandwich will linger in your memory. I can pretty much guarantee it, as I have been craving it since I first tried it months ago! The Crabby Cheese Melt with sharp Cheddar is also delicious. Both will have you coming back for more. Ms. Cheezious recently won the Reader’s Choice Award for Best Food Truck by the Miami New Times. If that doesn’t tell it’s a crowd favorite, nothing else could!

The Rolling Stove is another must try with Chef and Owner Troy Thomas at the helm. Their Blue Burger is covered with caramelized onions and the perfect amount of blue cheese… Not a lover of blue cheese, they put just the right amount to give it umph and I have fallen in love! This spot is definitely worth a visit.

Last but not least, Nacho Bizness is a Broward food truck that rolls into Miami regularly. They offer a daily fish taco special ranging from tuna to mahi mahi – each and every one much to my delight. Couple their exquisite taco’s and hearty burrito’s with their signature Chronic Ginger Lemonade, and you will leave a satisfied and happy customer.

All of the food trucks advertise their locations on their Twitter and Facebook pages every morning…
I promise you that one sample will not be enough. Perhaps like me, you will find yourself seeking them out regularly to get a treat…. Or, you may find your plans suddenly changing as you drive by one of their Round-ups, slam on the brakes, and literally break the [diet] rules with a bite at a few trucks! No one could blame after all, there are so many trucks to try and so little time!

In Spanish we like to say: Barriga llena, corazón contento. Every time I leave a food truck round-up I feel this way: Full belly, happy heart.
